WTF!! 😡

Alberta, please get it together! Smith has got to go. Nip this MAGA shit in the bud.

Donna Sinclair's avatar

This tactic feels like it came straight from MAGA.

Think DOGE, Elon Musk, it absolutely is in the plan

Consolidate everyone's data, then place it all in AI data centres, preferably buried, or otherwise inaccessible. Bingo!

Who has the keys?

In the last week I have received emails from 2 separatist groups asking for my support and donations. Elections Alberta does not have my email. The UCP party does as I voted in the Kenney and Smith leadership races to save Cons from the leaders they select. I suspect 1. that the voter information has been passed around to all separatist groups and 2. The UCP has shared its member list and emails with separatist groups

The lawsuits and class actions are what I’m waiting for. I’m jumping in. Danielle Smith’s bill 54 enabled it.

Citizen education is paramount in a democracy. Also transparency and honesty.

That might sound naïve.

I appreciate your hard work in reporting these stories, Cole.

This one, in particular, hits too hard to a vast majority of Albertans and I hope enough people speak out against what has taken place.

Bobsuruncle's avatar

This is 100% at the fault Danielle Smith. She changed the law, and get Mickey Amery’s IMMUNITY reversed as well, FFS. Trump’s doge, Trumps project 2025 at work here. I’m spitting nails at this government, FULLY responsible. On top of it all they were warned by Elections Alberta in May 2025 about the danger of bill 54.

This is an absolute outrage. Someone needs to be behind bars. When are we being updated by Carney and Smith. We should expect daily updates from elections Alberta on what they are doing to get at the people involved, until the culprits are charged and sentenced. Danielle Smith already knew about the breach since March and did not quickly move to protect the citizens from this egregious release of their information. The privacy act should be amended immediately to include political parties being subject to PIPA rules.

Bobsuruncle's avatar

She enabled this. Won’t be surprised to hear she’s involved as well.

Bonnie's avatar

Is she under investigation?

Bobsuruncle's avatar

Not sure, RCMP are quiet, watch for the continued gaslighting at warp speed.

Bonnie's avatar

Yes, it is despicable and people need to be properly demanding that the facts get out asap. RCMP has been horribly slow on Doug Ford investigation (no response since Oct 2023) and numerous people have now made complaints to them because he gutted our freedom of info laws last week. Now it’s going to court

Keith Williams's avatar

It is Elections Alberta that is involved, not Elections Canada, and it is Premier Smith that should be providing the updates.

>Meanwhile, Alberta Premier Danielle Smith has said little beyond expressing support for ongoing investigations by Elections Alberta and the RCMP.<

Thank you, Cole, for covering this topic. I'm in Ontario and my monitoring of the "Alberta separatist movement" over the past year has been very casual. I felt it was other people's business and there was very little I could do about it. But it did matter to me whether Danielle Smith was on Team Canada or Team USA. I couldn't tell.

What you are now reporting explains why I could not tell. She is clearly on working for separation but deniability is built into the very architecture of her method, drawn up and supported by people like this Parker person and the Centurion Project. In short, she's trying to "have her cake and eat it too." Reporting like yours is (hopefully) going to make this impossible.

Well I’ve ready got the calls/messages part locked in cause my phone screens unknown numbers

Probably not enough I know but it’s something I suppose

"They also have people's names that may not sound "white", that could be problematic in this crazy redneck province. :-(

Keith Williams's avatar

Cole, I see you listed the statements from the Prime Minister and the Alberta Liberal MPs. Were there any from the Alberta Conservative MPs?

Bobsuruncle's avatar

They’re apparently not allowed to speak lately in legislature as well. Control baby, control.

Keith Williams's avatar

Sad, very sad. 😢

Bill's avatar

Probably none exist.

KayDee's avatar

While the legislation needs to be revised it appears that the interpretation of evidence available compared to the threshold was overly interpreted as restrictive, possibly because of political government interference in the interpretation process?

felineophile's avatar

That would be how they get away with legislation changes with no one noticing. The leaning of the interpretation.

LAS's avatar

Elections Alberta must unequivocally reject the separatist petition as being totally compromised. The Alberta government must pull the Forever Canada petition from the hole in which they buried it and bring it to a referendum.

Bill's avatar

The Queen of Berta says she wants the miscreants to face the full weight of the law. Good for her. The question remains what retroactive changes she will make to the law such that the consequences are minor for the perpetrators. We have seen that happen time and again with her manipulation of the very citizen intitiative this issue is related to.

Mission's avatar

The separatist groups have been working alongside the Trump administration and lobbying them for funding.

We know that the Trump administration (Kristi Noem) had demanded additional access to Canadian’s information under the guise of border protection. Is there any chance it has been shared internationally?

Ken Smith's avatar

You can bet on it and I pray it will be seen as treason..!

Tracy Hogan's avatar

The petition should be declared NULL AND VOID

Trust can’t be bought! I have ZERO trust in this gov’t
