Anita Anand is not up to the job of Foreign Affairs Minister. I have written her about a dozen times about Palestine. Canada needs to take a stand. The world has stood up in the multi millions to protest, the majority of people in almost every country agree that Israel are committing Genocide, including reputable organizations for peace. The Zionist mentality Canada clings to is backwards and despicable. Colonization of any country should not be allowed in modern times. Palestinians lives have value, and they are being murdered, tortured, starved, and denied medicine. How anyone is still claiming “it’s complicated “ is beyond me. Where’s the humanity? I disagree. Israel is an occupying power, destroying and murdering Palestinian people. War crimes are rampant and they are illegally occupying the West Bank and Lebanese territories with no international pushback. Antisemitism is on the rise because Israel and most Western leaders including Carney equate Pro Palestine protests as Antisemitism or just wearing a keffiyeh. It’s ridiculous. 80% of Israeli’s polled believe Israel is doing the right thing decimating Palestine. That is a sick society. Canada needs to speak out and stand on the right side of history.

I have to say though that some pro-Palestinian activists in our city have become quite aggressive. This is problematic. We also recently had our synagogue defaced. These attacks are frightening to people who have no control over Israeli politics. Many Jews here are also against what Netanyahu is doing.
Annie, I see from comments you made here that you are Jewish so I want to be clear here. I deplore antisemitism. I'm an atheist as was my father. My father's best friend was Jewish and I grew up surrounded by wonderful Jewish people. Last night I woke up from a dream that was so powerful that I grabbed my phone and voice dictated as much as I could remember. It's way too much to recount here but an important part of the dream was that I was in a room full of jewish people celebrating something and the vibe was very joyous, loving and supportive. When I awoke from it i was instantly struck with the idea that "Zionism is antisemitic". At least from my perspective, the jewishness that I know is wonderful and Zionism is the total antithesis of it. Antisemitism is currently being used as a false cudgel by zionists and I think we need to throw that cudgel right back at them!

We must remember that Palestinians are 50% children, and they have continued to be bombed indiscriminately since the so called Ceasefire. Antisemitism is unacceptable, Islamophobia is unacceptable, but the real problem is with the continued suffering of Palestinians who live unspeakable horror everyday.
