🧨 Domestic Terror Plot Foiled in Quebec
Earlier today, the RCMP arrested four men who were allegedly organizing an anti-government militia and actively recruiting others online. The group, according to RCMP and CSIS intelligence, was plotting to seize control of land in Quebec and appeared to be preparing to act on that plan. Authorities had been monitoring the group since June 2022, and in January 2024, police seized a staggering 83 firearms, 16 grenades, and over 11,000 rounds of ammunition, the largest weapons seizure ever in a Canadian terrorism case.
Three of the men have been charged with facilitating terrorist activity, while one faces firearms and explosives charges. Notably, two of the four were active members of the Canadian Armed Forces.
The accused took part in military style training.
Trump’s 50% Copper Tariff Could Backfire
The Trump administration is reportedly preparing to impose a 50% tariff on copper imports, similar to the steel and aluminum tariffs implemented. The U.S. produces about 1 million tonnes of copper per year but needs 1.8 million to meet domestic demand, meaning it heavily relies on imports from Canada, Chile, Mexico, and Peru.
Canada, the 11th largest copper producer, exports nearly 600,000 tonnes annually, with the U.S. as its top customer. But with global demand for copper expected to double in the next five years, Canada is in a strong position to diversify its buyers. In other words: if Trump wants to cut himself off, the rest of the world is still buying.
🛒 Amazon’s “Fair Pricing” Policy Under Investigation
The Competition Bureau of Canada has launched a formal investigation into Amazon’s marketplace practices, focusing on its so-called “Fair Pricing Policy.” While the policy claims to protect consumers from overpricing, it may actually discourage sellers from offering better deals elsewhere, like on Walmart.ca or their own websites by threatening to suppress or delist their products.
Critics say this forces sellers to keep prices artificially high across all platforms just to stay on Amazon, all while Amazon charges some of the highest seller fees in the business. The Bureau is now looking at whether this amounts to an abuse of dominance that’s hurting competition and ultimately driving up prices for consumers.
🍷 Alcohol Sales Deal Reached “Mostly”
Starting May 2026, you’ll finally be able to buy and ship alcohol across 9 provinces and 1 territory. The only holdouts are Newfoundland and Yukon, with no public explanation yet. The announcement came after Chrystia Freeland met with provincial and territorial ministers in Quebec City today to move forward on breaking down interprovincial trade barriers. Officials say the agreement could be implemented even earlier than May, they just want to “get it right.”
Israel Planning Internment-Style Camps in Gaza
Israel’s Defence Minister “Katz” has instructed the IDF to prepare a fenced camp in southern Gaza (Rafah) to confine hundreds of thousands of Palestinians. Reports say the first phase could include the forced relocation of 600,000 people. Once inside, they would not be allowed to leave, and Israel claims they will screen residents for Hamas affiliation. The plan is to eventually confine the over 2 million people in Gaza. The construction of the camp will begin if a 60 day ceasefire is reached. The plan includes an offer to work with “willing” countries to take Palestinians abroad though no country has publicly agreed to take them.
It’s believed Israel will use starvation as a weapon once people are secured in camps in order to force them to want to leave, and to pressure other countries into taking them
How is our government comfortable investing in a Canadian company that will be supplying guards to Trump's concentration camp in Florida?
How can us Canadians be silent about this bullshit?
Will allowing this to happen breed more domestic terrorists on Canadian soil?
