Wow! What an incredible letter to our PM! I think it reflects Canada's mood currently. Given the Human Rights abuses, do you think we should sanction the US? I wish more countries would.

Sanctions. Bring back the DST which I believe PMMC said was removed/rescinded provided an amicable deal can be reached, spoiler alert it can't. And export taxes on energy, lumber, critical minerals and whatever other resources we send down there. Heck let's even turn off the so called faucet lol

If you’re an example, Cole, of a generation younger that me ( most are) then I have hope for the future. This letter is principled and dedicated to the idea of Canada acting with integrity. We can be our better selves, not perfect, not an impossible β€œbest self,” but better. Carry on with all the writing you are doing. You are doing a great job, and touching more people than you know.

I agree 100%, I’m hoping PMC has a plan and he’s going to drop it right on the orange turd’s head. The only business Trump succeeded at was showboating, every other business failed, he screwed countless mom and pop operations and will continue to disrupt after the midterms because he has the Supreme Court and they’ve given him carte-blanche. Congress and the house will not be able to touch him. The UK has already caved now the rest of the world must stand strong and show him our elbows.

I love the fact that in B.C., I don't see any U.S. alcohol at all. I sincerely hope it stays that way.

I haven't had a drink in years so I don't go liquor stores, but I've had friends say there's no American liquor there. πŸ™ŒπŸΌ

I have already written to Prime Minister Mark Carney's office expressing exactly the same sentiments. This letter should be cut and pasted and sent to Ottawa by all Canadians.

Thank you for this, well said. πŸ‘ We must stand together and speak out against humanitarian crimes in Gaza, Ukraine, CECOT, and the US. (Note that the US is the common denominator among the first three. The US has been the bully assist here, sometimes puppeteering it; sanctions are appropriate.) The tariffs are a Realty TV ploy as well a market manipulation tactic (Krump nudged his friends to buy stocks when the market tanked in April). Alligator Auschwitz is also a reality TV scandal, with Krump announcing they will LIVESTREAM any escape attempts. (DHS was in talks with a producer on a reality TV show pitting migrants against each other, Survivor-style.) Just yesterday or the other day, a senior White House staff went on the record to reveal that everything about the Krump regime has been and is performative, ala Reality TV. Krump himself has repeatedly told the press on various occasions: "This will make for great television."

Canada needs to see through all this and call it out. Carney needs to be the adult in the room, take away the sick toddler's play things, and ground him. The world wants to see just consequences for his actions, and Canada must lead.

100% agree. The old saying "give an inch and they'll take a mile" applies here. If we back down now, it will never end and it will get worse and worse each time.

Could you start a petition Cole, that could pull in signatures from a wide range of your readers, and get PMC's attention?

I sincerely hope that letter makes it to the Prime Minister’s desk and that he reads it! I’m fed up of talks and statements without action. Bold moves are necessary at this time!

I believe Carney's moves are more strategic, but will be effective still. What kind of bold action would you like to see from Carney?

Sanctions against the US for humanitarian crimes + Canada can lead the UN on criminal charges against the US and bring these before the International Criminal Courts. We may not have the necessary enforcement power, but if the UK & EU, Mexico, Venezuela, and others join us in coming together, it's a global show of condemnation against tyranny, and that we're willing to cut ties with a fascist regime.
