Looks like it's time to put our newly elected Conservative MP on notice as to our expectation that he will support this clean water ACT for the Indigenous nations. I will not accept any bullshit arguments to the contrary.
It would seem two of our most traitorous Conservative provincial premiers have formed a coalition of sorts. I am sure there will be more to come. Quel surprise! Not! ❤️🇨🇦
Alberta First Nations are opposed to Bill C-61. It does not actually affirm FNs jurisdiction over water, in requires participation (but not approval) from the federal and provincial governments and affected FNs before any work is done - but importantly, it does not include any enforcement mechanisms to compel the provincial governments (important in Alberta esp) to come to the table at all. It is hugely problematic. And on top of all of that, Alberta FNs were left out of consultation.
